150pk -> 170PK
250nm -> 350nm
Bijlage 257763

The regular MQ250 transmission found in the 1.8T GTI and Jetta GLS 1.8T for example is only rated for 250 newton meters or 184 lb-ft of torque.
The guys chipping their 1.8Ts with that transmission are pushing 230 lb-ft into a trans rated for 184 lb-ft and finding that their clutches are going after 20-30k miles. That's not too bad overall considering the big jump so long as you don't mind replacing the clutch from time to time.
Talking with VW engineers in the transmission group, the general concensus is that the clutch is the weak link on purpose in the transmissions so that if you decide to push big torque through a trans not designed for it, the clutch will go first instead of spider gears and other more expensive stuff.
As a reference the DSG transmission (DQ250) in the R32 is rated just high enough to cover the torque of the 3.2l VR6. Even though it is officially labeled as a DQ250 (meaning 250 newton meter torque rating) it has been beefed up to handle the additional torque of the R32. Beyond that though, as Ian pointed out, the transmission will electronically monitor clutch micro-slippage and if it goes beyond preset tolerances, the transmission will communicate with the ECU and dial back engine power.
Future DSG offerings may have higher torque ratings (and lower) but the R32 is only rated to handle the torque that the R32 3.2l VR6 puts out.

En op het golfMK7 forum:
Bart,
It's a fact that both DQ200 and MQ250 are rated for 250 Nm.
It's a fact that both don't like higher torque values.
Just read Volkswagen's selfstudy programmes (SSP). They pro-
vide great information.
The weakest point of your manual MQ250 is the clutch though.
They're prone to slip.
